When you purchase a Roots To Table cutting board, charcuterie board, crib board, or serving tray, you're investing in top-tier craftsmanship and genuine customer care. Our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty backs that commitment — with action, not just words.

01

What's covered

We build our products to last, and we want you to feel 100% confident in your purchase. Our lifetime warranty covers materials and craftsmanship for the original purchaser — or the person who registered the warranty if it was a gift.

  • Cracking, splitting, or structural failure from faulty materials or workmanship
  • Defects that develop during normal household use
  • Repair or replacement at no cost to you, when a covered defect appears

"Lifetime" refers to the expected usable life of the product under normal household use, by the original purchaser.

02

What's not covered

Wood is natural and unique — each piece deserves care and respect. Our warranty doesn't cover the following:

Improper care & maintenance

  • Dishwasher use or soaking in water
  • Storing in extremely dry, humid, or high-heat environments
  • Neglecting regular oiling or conditioning
  • Using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners

Extreme conditions

  • Exposure to temperatures below 0°C (32°F)
  • Exposure to temperatures above 40°C (104°F)

Normal wear & tear

  • Knife marks, scratches, dents, or minor wood movement
  • Natural color changes or shifts in grain

Misuse or abuse

  • Using the board as a hot pad, hammer, or near open flames
  • Leaving the board outdoors or in direct sunlight
  • Neglect or intentional damage

Unauthorized alterations

  • Sanding, reshaping, refinishing, or modifying by anyone other than Roots To Table

Acts of God

  • Fire, flooding, or natural disasters
Excluded products. Cards & pegs in crib board sets, board butter and other maintenance products, and the hardware components of our cheese-wire cutters (wire, tension arms, screws) are not covered under this warranty.
03

If your piece was a gift

Most of our products are given as gifts. That's why we offer optional warranty registration for the recipient — so coverage stays with the person who actually owns the board.

Registered

Contact us using the email or phone number used at registration. We'll verify ownership and process your claim quickly.

Not registered

No problem — we'll just ask for your receipt or order number from the original purchase as proof of coverage.

04

How to file a claim

We've made the process simple and fair. Most claims are resolved within a week.

  1. 1

    Document the issue

Take clear photos or a short video of the defect — well-lit, close-up, and from multiple angles.

  2. 2

    Locate proof of purchase

Use the email tied to your warranty registration. If unregistered, dig out your receipt or order number.

  3. 3

    Email care@rootstotable.com

Send your photos, proof of purchase, and a quick description of what happened.

  4. 4

We respond within 3 business days

If your claim is valid, we'll arrange a repair, replacement, or other appropriate resolution.

05

Caring for your piece

A well-cared-for board can last for decades. Here's how to help it live its best life.

Hand-wash only

Warm water, mild soap. Towel dry immediately — don't air dry.

No dishwashers, no soaking

Heat and standing water will warp the wood and break the joinery.

Oil or wax monthly

Food-safe mineral oil or board butter keeps the grain tight and bright.

Store smart

Keep dry, away from heat sources, and never put it away while damp.

Quick answers

Do I have to register to be covered?

No. The warranty applies whether or not you register. Registering just makes claims faster — we can verify your ownership instantly without you hunting down a receipt.

Is the warranty transferable?

Coverage stays with the original purchaser, or with the person who registered the warranty if it was given as a gift. It doesn't transfer to subsequent owners.

What if my board cracked from age?

If the crack is from a defect in materials or workmanship, you're covered. If it's from improper care — dishwasher, soaking, neglect — it falls under the exclusions. Send us photos and we'll take a look.

Will you repair or replace?

It depends on the issue. We'll always start with repair when possible — that's the more sustainable path. If a piece is beyond repair, we replace it with the same model or the closest available equivalent.

How fast will you respond?

Within 3 business days, by a real human. Most claims are fully resolved within 7 to 14 days from first email.

Does the warranty cover engraving?

Yes — if the engraved area splits or fails due to a craftsmanship defect, that's covered. Cosmetic darkening or fading of the engraving over years of normal use is considered patina, not a defect.
